The Bang Bang Caravel 3

The third instalment in The Bang Bang Caravel series featured an unconventional mix of performance, music and installation. Acts included impromptu one-off performances by the group O.T.T.; the "two minute madness" of Pinsineedles (also known as Stitches); the vocal harmony of Disciples (Junior’s Barbershop Quartet); the sonic experiments of duo Doctor Doctor; and original live music from Eritrea and Ethiopia by Teklit. The event was completed by visual artist Josca Craig-Smith, who exhibited new work for the evening.

The Bang Bang Caravel was an immersive, multi-disciplinary programme, presented as part of the Auckland Fringe Festival across four consecutive Saturdays, open to audiences on a koha (donation) basis. The series featured a strange collection of original theatre, live music, short film, visual art, lighting and sound sculptures, as well as unpredictable performances—all described as being “as curious as the sea”.
