X 2

This was the first of two sequential student exhibitions for the Auckland University of Technology’s Bachelor of Visual Arts cohort, held at Cross St Studios over two days. It featured work from ten second-year students, was overseen by Lecturer Ingrid Boberg and ran simultaneously with other student shows at Te Wai Ngutu Kākā Gallery (formerly St Pauls Street Gallery).

X 2 was the fourth of five exhibitions in a three-year partnership between Cross St Studios and AUT. Through this collaboration, students gained the unique opportunity to showcase their work in a public context, connecting with a wider arts community and gaining exposure free from the financial pressure of commercial galleries.
