Newton Gully Screen Society 2

The second event in this series was a horror-themed double feature, pairing an international classic with a iconic national short film. The screening featured Dario Argento’s Suspiria (1977), in which a ballet student uncovers dark secrets at her academy, followed by Alison Maclean’s black-and-white work, Kitchen Sink (1989), about a woman's bizarre discovery in her home.

The Newton Gully Screen Society offered a free film screening series, generally presented fortnightly on Sundays in the gallery space, running from April to June 2008. These screenings continued the experimental film programming established by the Cinema Obscura events curated by Sean Monro throughout 2007, maintaining a focus on obscure and challenging cinematic experiences outside the mainstream.
