Newton Gully Screen Society at Wine Cellar 4
This free event presented a classic animated double feature, pairing Walt Disney's first full-length animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) with Jan Švankmajer's surrealist adaptation Alice (1988).
For its 2008 Spring season, the Newton Gully Screen Society offered a series of six free film screenings, presented every second Wednesday in the back room of The Wine Cellar, off Karangahape Rd. Organised in collaboration with The Dust Palace, this season continued the Society's mission to bring a range of cinematic experiences to the public, building on the earlier Cinema Obscura events held at Cross St Studios, curated by Sean Monro.
