WELCOME

WELCOME was a one-night-only exhibition of new work by Daniel Munn that subtly explored themes of hospitality, labour and economic instability. Inspired by the ritual of preparing a table for new guests, Munn's work used everyday objects—from mint-error coins in a penny tray to a custom-made tablecloth—to create fictional glimpses into the lives of people working in the service industry.

"A table of guests leave. Their plates and cutlery are removed. Tableware and linens are taken away. The table is wiped down and new linen and settings are laid. Everything is done to ensure that the area is prepared for its next guests."
